Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) is a 2006 port of the original 1991 Sega Genesis classic. Released to commemorate Sonic's 15th anniversary, it brings the high-speed platforming of the first title to a handheld format for the first time.

• Original Mode: A direct attempt to recreate the 1991 experience.
• Anniversary Mode: Adds Sonic's signature Spin Dash move (first introduced in Sonic 2) to help navigate stages faster.
• Save System: Unlike the original console version, this port allows you to save high scores and game progress across the seven zones.
• Unlockable Soundtrack: Completing stages allows players to unlock and listen to songs from the original soundtrack in a Jukebox mode.
