- Mission Structure: The game features over 20 levels set in New York City locations like Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge. Each level begins with a briefing from Janine or Egon.
- Tools of the Trade: Players manage proton canisters to power their streams. You can also use P.K.E. meters to track spirits and ghost traps to capture them, though trapping isn't always mandatory to clear a stage (Ghostbusters Fandom).
- Multiplayer: It supports the Game Boy link cable, allowing two players to compete against each other.
