Shining Soul II is a dungeon-crawling action role-playing game (ARPG) developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and published by SEGA, Atlus, and THQ for the Game Boy Advance (GBA). Released in North America in April 2004, it serves as a direct sequel to Shining Soul and is a spin-off of the celebrated Shining universe. Departing from the traditional turn-based tactical gameplay of the Shining Force series, Shining Soul II plays similarly to isometric hack-and-slash games like Diablo, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, or Phantasy Star Online.

• Eight Playable Classes: Players can choose from a diverse roster of characters including the Warrior, Archer, Sorceress, Dragonolute, Ninja, Brawler, Priestess, and Dark Wizard. Each class features completely distinct weapon specializations, stats, and abilities.

Narrative Setting

The plot takes place centuries after the original game. Following a prolonged era of peace brought about by the defeat of a dark dragon, the world's balance begins to collapse. An alchemist of darkness named Gillespie orchestrates a plot that leads to the disappearance of Princess Camille. Players begin their journey traveling to a grand tournament in the Klantol kingdom, only to be tasked by the King to rescue the princess from a goblin uprising and stop an encroaching darkness.
